Just found out my ACL and menisci are torn. Contemplating knee surgery completely turns my world upside down. I'm so bummed. I guess I should focus on foods that aid in my recovery and rehab.

Adventure Race Nutrition

So I did my first adventure race as a Thrive Nutrition Vegan-ite...After about 6 hours, I had to fall back to some commercial gels as the energy bites I made and the gel just wasn't doing it. I wore a HRM and was testing how many calories per hour I was burning out there snowshoeing, skiing and running through deep snow. It was close to 600 kcal/hour. Coming back all the way

I have always been an athlete. From the time I was playing teeball and peewee hockey with the boys, till I was swimming for state high school records, I had to compete. This love for competition and all things athletic continued into my 20's when I took up running and paddling marathon distances and also turned strict vegetarian.
